Event description:

Join us for a Pride Month screening of Donna Deitch’s DESERT HEARTS, which The Guardian declared one of the top ten most romantic films ever made. Celebrating its 35th anniversary this summer, the Reno-set drama is “a love story that recreates with perceptiveness and tenderness what it might have been like for two women of different generations and backgrounds to fall in love in the fifties” (Vito Russo, The Celluloid Closet). Helen Shaver, Patricia Charbonneau, and Audra Lindley star. 35mm print from the Yale Film Archive.

A presentation of the Yale Film Study Center and Films at the Whitney with support from Paul L. Joskow ’70 M.Phil., ’72 Ph.D.
