at home: Artists in Conversation | Jadé Fadojutimi

Jadé Fadojutimi talks with Julia Carver, curator, Bristol Museum and Art Gallery. Fadojutimi will discuss her studio practice and her recent projects.

Born in London in 1993, Fadojutimi is a British artist of Nigerian heritage. Her abstract paintings are often monumental in scale and make use of elements such as grids, layers, and disparate marks that create a sense of continual transformation. She refers to her paintings as “emotional landscapes” in which she questions everyday experiences, memories, and self-knowledge.

Talking to Teens: Communication for Connection and Safety

Studies show that youth who feel they can talk with their parents are less likely to engage in risky behaviors such as promiscuity, using substances, violence, etc. However, it’s easy to have breakdowns when talking with teens, especially about their struggles. Many of us want to help our kids to feel better and even fix their problems…which actually doesn’t help. This class will help you recognize barriers to connecting positively and apply strategies that will improve your communication during this confusing developmental stage.

Together We Stand, Men's Event

On June 11th, Vaughn Signatures will be hosting its first Men’s Event, titled, Together We Stand. The event will be held at the Crystal Ball Room in Naugatuck, CT. The purpose of this event is to offer a safe space and platform for fathers and all males to provoke change, awareness, and bonding. The event will include expert speakers to discuss a variety of topics, that aim to Equip, Educate and Empower men within their communities. Each attendee will be provided a meal and a free giveaway.

11th Annual Free Market & Health Fair

New Haven Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in partnership with the Epsilon Iota Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., will celebrate their 11th Annual event on Saturday, June 10, 2023. Join us for the day as you shop for free clothing, shoes, household items, books and more. There will be food and health screenings available on-site. Donations are being collected now! Please sort and drop off during one of the collection dates below.
