This is a free program for families with children who are five to twelve years of age and on the autism spectrum. Participants look at artwork in the museum’s galleries followed by an activity in a museum classroom. A quiet room is available throughout the session with blankets and sensory toys. While the needs of individuals with autism are taken into account for the design of this program, it is also intended to be fun for parents, siblings, and other relatives too!

On the 50th anniversary of African American Studies at Yale, this panel brings together Yale School of Art alumni Howardena Pindell, M.F.A. 1967, Wangechi Mutu, M.F.A. 2000, and Kevin Beasley, M.F.A. 2012, with Courtney J. Martin, Director of the Yale Center for British Art, to reflect on changing perceptions of black visual arts since 1969 and to share views on how to ensure an inclusive global art world for the future.

Poet and memoirist Reginald Dwayne Betts will read from his just-out poetry collection, FELON, which focuses on the aftermath of his prison experience, and answer questions about his work, his life, and the long-term effects of incarceration.

Ms. Eagle Bull, a member of the Oglala Lakota Nation, has nearly 30 years of architectural design and project management experience. She has successfully led large, diverse, multi-disciplined design teams through all project phases. Tammy believes strongly in the direct relationship between human behavior and the environment. She strives to create environments in which the users will not only function but also thrive.
