Japan’s Foreign Policy and International Law

Since its modernization in 19th century, Japan has shown respect for the importance of international law, except for a fifteen-year period of aggression. Outside of the span of time between 1931 and 1945, Japan’s foreign policy has been heavily founded on concepts of international law for most of its history. In fact, this influence is one of the key reasons why Japan succeeded in both its efforts to rapidly modernize, as well as its remarkable postwar restoration. At the same time, the importance that Japan places on international law creates limits around Japan’s foreign policy.

Parents of LGBTQ Children Lunch

The office of LGBTQ Resources and the LGBTQ Affinity group host lunches for parents of LGBTQ children (and their allies) every third Thursday of each month. All parents of LGBTQ children–as well as LGBTQ staff & faculty and allies–are invited to share this space for support, community, and conversation.

Yale ITS believes that learning accessibility and front-end best practices should be an ongoing, permanent process of training and skills development. To support developers’ continuing education, the Digital Accessibility Team is hosting lunchtime learning sessions where developers can learn something about accessibility that they can begin implementing right away.
