2nd Annual Yale Black Venture Summit: Maximizing Momentum

Please join us for our second Annual Yale Black Venture Summit this Friday April 26 at Edward P. Evans Hall, bringing together Black founders, investors, and ecosystem builders to foster community around Black entrepreneurship.

Hosted by the Black Business Alliance at Yale School of Management, the conference features Black founders, ecosystem builders, and investors from across industries including keynotes from Gary Stewart, MD of Techstars NYC and André Swanston, the first Black owner of an MLS sports team.

Curator's Talk: "Whaling Logbooks: Records of a Maritime Industry" 2024 Senior Fellowship Exhibit

Please join us to celebrate the opening of Whaling Logbooks: Records of a Maritime Industry, on view in the Sterling Library Exhibition Corridor from April 29 to October 6, 2024. Curator AJ Laird ’24 will provide a tour of this exciting exhibition and will be available for questions and conversation over light refreshments afterwards. No registration is necessary.

MENA x YAAA talk: "Defining MENA"

This talk will examine the Middle East as simultaneously a foreign policy and domestic concern for diaspora communities. Frequently, a site of ambiguity and contention within domestic law and international institutions, the census rollout of the category demands careful attention to historical nuances, long-standing community activism, and the pitfalls of any kind of institutionalization that excludes.

Wildlife Walk - Spring Migrants!

A series exploring the nature trails, woodlands, and natural landscape of Yale’s West Campus. Spring migrant bird walk, hosted by the Yale Peabody Museum and colleagues. Meet at the West Campus Conference Center for a round trip walk of around 1.5 miles. Sturdy footwear recommended. Binoculars supplied. Refreshments at the West Campus Barn. Rain cancels.

Film + Q&A of CANOEROS: Living Memory a National Geographic Documentary

Canoeros: Living Memory shares an epic journey of the Kawésqar communities and National Geographic Pristine Seas across the Chilean Patagonian Ocean to defend an indigenous territory from the salmon industry.

Following the screening of the documentary, a question and answer panel will be held featuring two of the indigenous leaders featured in the film, Leticia Caro and Eric Huaiquil (members of the Kawésqar people), and Alex Muñoz, YSE McCluskey Fellow and former National Geographic Pristine Seas Director for Latin America.
