Carlton MBA/JD ‘80 launched Springboard – Partners in Cross Cultural Leadership, LLC where she has been President since 2003. Springboard is an executive and organizational leadership consulting firm. Springboard conducts research and assessments on inclusive leadership and diversity, develops training and professional development seminars, and provides consulting and executive coaching to organizations in the corporate and non profit sectors.

Business of Legal Cannabis Conference

The Yale Business of Legal Cannabis Conference was the first of its kind at any U.S. business school. Hosted by the Yale School of Management’s Business & Politics Club, the conference will be held on Friday, February 7th at Yale SOM’s campus. The 2020 theme is “The Canna-Boom: Building business and developing policy in uncharted territories”. The objective of the conference is to convene leaders from all sectors of society – private, government, and nonprofit – to discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with the business of legal cannabis.

Gruber Distinguished Lecture in Global Justice with Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II

The Spring 2020 Gruber Distinguished Lecture in Global Justice will be delivered on February 24th by Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II. Barber is a pastor and social justice advocate building a broad-based grassroots movement, grounded in the moral tenets of faith-based communities and the constitution, to confront systemic racism, poverty, environmental devastation, the war economy and the distorted moral narrative of religious nationalism in America today.

Women of Yale Lecture Series: Art and Disruption

Quiara Alegría Hudes is a playwright and author originally from West Philly with roots in Boriken. Her play Water by the Spoonful won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Her Tony-winning Broadway musical In the Heights, written with Lin-Manuel Miranda, will soon be a major motion picture, adapted for the screen by Hudes. Together with her cousin Sean, Hudes cofounded Emancipated Stories, so people behind bars can share one page of their life story with those on the “outside.” See all the Emancipated Stories on Instagram at @emancipated_stories_project.

Join us for Equality in Design’s Fall 2019 Brown Bag Lunch Talk with Gabrielle Printz, an architectural researcher, writer, designer, and co-founder of feminist architecture collective (f-architecture). Her current research explores landscapes of detention and the spatial and performative networks which connect border and prison. This exploration manifested most recently in the web-based project C-A-R-TRIP.US.

Timothy Dwight Presents "The Night Is Yours" by Abdul-Razak Zachariah

Abdul-Razak Zachariah grew up in West Haven, Connecticut, and is a loyal 2017 TD alum. He was deeply involved in diversity and inclusion advocacy and received the Mellon Mays Research Fellowship and the Nakanishi Prize. Abdul’s first book, The Night is Yours, was released in July 2019 by Dial Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Penguin Random House. The story is based on the apartment complex and community where he grew up in West Haven. The Night is Yours is the product of his Education Studies capstone project.
