When you picture a scientific lab, what do you see? Here at Yale’s West Campus, science is taking place in gardens, galleries, microscope rooms, and laser labs and we want to share it all with you! We welcome you back for a behind-the-scenes virtual tour of our labs! This time we’ll be learning how ancient artifacts are studied, getting an inside look at genome analysis, and seeing specialized microscopes at the Imaging Core. Live experiments included!Also g et a chance to have your questions answered by Yale scientists. Open to Grades 6-12.

VIRTUAL: MLK Youth Space: Art as Wellness (MLK 2022 at the Peabody Museum)

Created by and for middle and high school young adults, this virtual space is open to young people interested in connecting with their peers to learn and talk about mental wellness in families of color. Hosted with leadership from Students for Educational Justice, this Zoom meeting will have a political education segment on mental health, removing police presence in schools, and the legacy of Dr. King. Choose either a spoken word workshop hosted by The Word and teaching artists Tahj Galberth and Aaron Jafferis, or a visual arts workshop facilitated by teaching artist Jadie Meprivert.

Climate Change Conversations 2021

Yale Alumni Academy and Harvard Alumni Travels have assembled a distinguished roster of expert faculty and alumni to address the leading climate change issues facing our planet. With eight presentations taking place over three weeks, we offer alumni participants interactive lectures and discussion sessions designed to inform, educate and expand your thinking on this important topic. Our Climate Change Conversations series coincides with the United Nations COP2 Conference taking place in Glasgow this November and features several speakers who will also address that conference.

2021 Global Environmental Justice Conference

The 2021 Global Environmental Justice Conference at the Yale School of the Environment will focus on a just green recovery. As we emerge from the pandemic into the reality of climate disruption, it is clear that restarting the economy cannot mean a return to the status quo. Instead, leaders in government and policy, NGO’s, universities, the private sector, and grassroots coalitions have a pronounced opportunity to rethink how we live.
