Join us for Hop Into Spring 2025: A Lindy Hop & Balboa Dance weekend with national instructors Jennifer Barnett and Dominic Hanna! This weekend will be jam packed with lessons for dancers of all levels and includes an incredible evening of social dancing to the Wes Lewis Quintet, led by a Yale PhD student, and featuring vocals by Teddy Horangic, a professional vocalist and also a Yale student. Lindy Hop is the original swing dance, originating in Harlem during the Harlem Renaissance, and continuing to be enjoyed by dancers worldwide all the way up to the current day. Balboa is an offshoot of Lindy Hop that originated in Southern California in the 1930s. It is generally done to faster music, and is also enjoyed worldwide. Yale Swing Blues and Fusion is a very friendly group, and is very welcoming to beginner dancers. Absolutely no dance experience required :)
