Mellon Postdoctoral Associate in Native American Art and Curation between the Department of the History of Art and the Yale University Art Gallery; Dr. Patricia Marroquin Norby (Purépecha), Associate Curator of Native American Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; and guests for a conversation about the complexities of Indigenous representation in the arts. Focusing on uniquely situated institutions that steward both ancestral and contemporary collections, the discussion will unravel in what ways the prioritization of Indigenous voices and keepers of cultural knowledge can inform exhibition development, collection stewardship, and reciprocal relationship building.
