A conversation in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Cave Canem Foundation. Founded by Toi Derricotte and Cornelius Eady in 1996 to remedy the under-representation and isolation of African American poets in the literary landscape, Cave Canem is a home for the many voices of African American poetry and is committed to cultivating the artistic and professional growth of African American poets. The Beinecke Library is honored to steward the archives of Cave Canem and the archives of Derricotte and Eady, part of the James Weldon Johnson Memorial Collection of African American Arts and Letters in the Yale Collection of American Literature.
This online program will begin at 4pm with conversation with Derricotte and Eady for about half an hour, with another half an hour of questions and answers from the audience to follow before the program concludes at 5pm.
