Event description: 

All are welcome to a a special one-display of highlights of Beinecke Library collections related to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and to the African American freedom movement on view for the holiday in the courtyard level reading room. You will be able to see an array of materials, many drawn from the library’s James Weldon Johnson Memorial Collection of African American Arts and Letters, that highlight Dr. King’s life, legacy, and impact, and the long civil rights movement in the United States.
Kindly note: all visitors who go to the reading room will need to check any and all bags, coats, and other personal belongings in secure lockers on the library’s ground floor before going to the reading room. Space may be limited. Last entry will be at 3:30pm.
Mobile phones and hand held cameras are permitted in the library, including the reading room. Pens may not be used in the reading room, pencils are available for your use. Food and beverage are not permitted in the library.
In accordance with Yale University policy, COVID-19 vaccination (including a booster, if eligible) is required for visitors five and older. You may be asked to present proof of vaccination. Additional visitor information on the library website.
