Join YWCA Hartford Region, Yale’s Affinity Groups, and The New Haven Club of The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club’s Inc. for a virtual learning session about the 50/50 Campaign, an initiative to promote gender equity and racial diversity on municipal boards and commissions. The 50/50 Campaign educates and encourages community members to join their local municipal boards and commissions to ensure residents have a voice in the decision-making process and help improve the quality of life for their community.

The virtual learning session will be divided into three parts:

-Part I will focus on an overview by delving into the background of the 5050 Campaign and statistics to set the stage.
-Part II will focus on conversations about experiences with the community. Participants will be encouraged to share their experiences, ideas, and opinions, creating an engaging and interactive environment.
-Part III will focus on how participants can apply to boards or commissions to make a positive influence on their community and create an impact on quality-of-life issues present within their communities.
