Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
I want to welcome all of you who are joining us at Yale for the first time, and welcome back all those who are coming together again to begin an exciting, new academic year.
Yale is a vibrant place, dedicated to scholarship, research, practice, and learning. It is also a caring community. Each academic year brings new opportunities for us to deepen our connections to each other and to our shared community.
Over the course of last year, all schools and administrative divisions within the university were asked to consider how to enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at Yale. You can learn about the university’s commitments, find opportunities to connect with others, and review resources on your own by exploring Belonging at Yale.
Another excellent resource is our My Story series, where you will meet students, faculty, staff, and alumni and read their personal stories about belonging. I invite you to share your story about joining the Yale community on that site.
- Resources to Address Discrimination and Harassment Concerns – Discrimination and harassment are contrary to our community’s standards and ideals. If you have experienced either, been witness to a situation, or just need to talk, we encourage you to seek support.
- Sexual Misconduct Response and Prevention – Sexual misconduct has no place at Yale. If you, your friends, or your family are affected by sexual misconduct, please reach out for assistance.
