New academic year message from Kimberly Goff-Crews

August 31, 2022

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

I want to welcome all of you who are joining us at Yale for the first time, and welcome back all those who are coming together again to begin an exciting, new academic year.

Yale is a vibrant place, dedicated to scholarship, research, practice, and learning. It is also a caring community. Each academic year brings new opportunities for us to deepen our connections to each other and to our shared community.

Engagement Opportunities

Over the course of last year, all schools and administrative divisions within the university were asked to consider how to enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at Yale. You can learn about the university’s commitments, find opportunities to connect with others, and review resources on your own by exploring Belonging at Yale.

Another excellent resource is our My Story series, where you will meet students, faculty, staff, and alumni and read their personal stories about belonging. I invite you to share your story about joining the Yale community on that site.

Support Resources

As you begin this new year, I encourage you to share your ideas on how we can promote belonging at Yale and contact us if you have questions.

Sincerely,

Kimberly M. Goff-Crews

Secretary and Vice President for University Life
