Please join in our monthly LGBTQ meetings. These meetings are an opportunity to hear about what has been happening with LGBTQ and what is in the works. We welcome all those who are interested in getting involved and sharing their ideas.

Leaders Forum: "Making Mistakes, and What I Learned From Them:" Lessons in Leadership through Adversity- A Conversation with Jorge Lemann

Save the Date for our first Leaders Forum this semester on November 9 with Jorge Lemann who will talk about leadership through adversity and the mistakes he made, and learned from as he built his enterprise.
Jorge Paulo Lemann is a Swiss-Brazilian entrepreneur and the founder and chairman of the board of the Lemann Foundation. He believes that people are the most important asset for either a company or a society and has brought this philosophy to life in all his business and philanthropic endeavors.

Memorializing History: A Conversation About Monuments, Truth, and Justice

The Neutral Ground documents New Orleans’ fight over monuments and America’s troubled romance with the Lost Cause. In 2015, director CJ Hunt was filming the New Orleans City Council’s vote to remove four confederate monuments. But when that removal was halted by death threats, CJ set out to understand why a losing army from 1865 still held so much power in America.

Climate Change Conversations 2021

Yale Alumni Academy and Harvard Alumni Travels have assembled a distinguished roster of expert faculty and alumni to address the leading climate change issues facing our planet. With eight presentations taking place over three weeks, we offer alumni participants interactive lectures and discussion sessions designed to inform, educate and expand your thinking on this important topic. Our Climate Change Conversations series coincides with the United Nations COP2 Conference taking place in Glasgow this November and features several speakers who will also address that conference.

VIRTUAL: Celebrating LGBT+ Scientists Guest Speaker: Dr. Clara Barker, Ph.D.

Women and Gender Minorities in Science at Yale (WISAY) and Out in STEM (oSTEM) are excited to host Dr. Clara Barker, Ph.D., a scientist who manages the Center for Applied Superconductivity at Oxford University, where she is also the vice chair of the LGBT+ advisory group. Dr. Barker is also an advocate for LGBT+ diversity and vocally campaigns for trans rights.

2021 Global Environmental Justice Conference

The 2021 Global Environmental Justice Conference at the Yale School of the Environment will focus on a just green recovery. As we emerge from the pandemic into the reality of climate disruption, it is clear that restarting the economy cannot mean a return to the status quo. Instead, leaders in government and policy, NGO’s, universities, the private sector, and grassroots coalitions have a pronounced opportunity to rethink how we live.
