Women in Medicine at Yale Lunch & Learn

Join the Yale African American Affinity Group for a lunch and learn that will showcase women in medicine at Yale. Aba Black, MD, will discuss her action plans, advocacy, professional growth, education, and inspiration for helping the community.

Dr. Black is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of General Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, where she serves as the Associate Program Director for Diversity and Inclusion in the Yale Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program.

BIPOC in the Built Wiki Edit-A-Thon: Grassroots Collectives + BIPOC Futurists

This is the final day in this week-long virtual event participants will build community while creating new and edit existing Wikipedia pages of BIPOC designers, activists, planners and others whose work is connected to the built environment. Attendees will participate in training and begin editing Wikipedia pages of BIPOC figures who have left their mark on the fields of art, architecture, art history, activism, dance, graphic design, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, and more.

Attendees will participate in training and begin editing Wikipedia pages of BIPOC figures who have left their mark on the fields of art, architecture, art history, activism, dance, graphic design, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, and more.

Join the Yale African American Affinity Group and Working Women’s Network for an event with Oyere Onuma, MD. Dr. Onuma will give you the answers you need in order to protect your heart both now and in the future.

Dr. Onuma is an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the Preventive Cardiovascular Health Program, which is a nationally recognized authority on global health and cardiovascular disease prevention. An alumna of the Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Onuma returned to Yale in 2019 as an Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine.

VIRTUAL: The Gruber Distinguished Lecture in Women's Rights by Cecile Richards

Cecile Richards, a national leader for women’s rights and social and economic justice, will deliver the 2021 Gruber Distinguished Lecture in Women’s Rights.

The lecture, titled, “Women and the Workforce — How A Pandemic Demands Systemic Change,” is open to the Yale Community and will take place on Monday, March 8, 2021, from 4:30–6:00 p.m. via Zoom. Online registration is required. There will also be a panel discussion on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, with Richards and additional speakers. Details will be posted soon.
