Dr. Onuma is an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the Preventive Cardiovascular Health Program, which is a nationally recognized authority on global health and cardiovascular disease prevention. An alumna of the Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Onuma returned to Yale in 2019 as an Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine.

Cecile Richards, a national leader for women’s rights and social and economic justice, will deliver the 2021 Gruber Distinguished Lecture in Women’s Rights.
The lecture, titled, “Women and the Workforce — How A Pandemic Demands Systemic Change,” is open to the Yale Community and will take place on Monday, March 8, 2021, from 4:30–6:00 p.m. via Zoom.
