Ash Fure's "ANIMAL: A Listening Gym" Live Performance

New Haven will be hitting the gym when sonic artist Ash Fure comes to town. Commissioned by Yale Schwarzman Center, curated by YSC Artist-in-Residence Bryce Dessner, and built in collaboration with stock-a-studio, ANIMAL: A Listening Gym is both an interactive sound art installation and a live musical performance. Guests can “work out” in the listening gym, consume themselves in the visceral sounds of Fure’s ANIMAL performance, or both. Gym times and show times are below:

'Rustin' Film Screening with Producer Bruce Cohen '83

Join us for a prerelease screening of the Netflix film Rustin, an inspiring story based on the life and work of Bayard Rustin, close advisor to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and one of the most influential and effective organizers of the civil rights movement. Produced by Academy award winner Bruce Cohen ‘83, Higher Ground’s Tonia Davis and George C. Wolfe, the film features an all-star cast including Colman Domingo, Chris Rock, Glynn Turman, Jeffrey Wright and Audra McDonald.

Breaking Bread Together

Join the departments of Therapeutic Radiology, Genetics, and Laboratory Medicine, along with Yale’s nine affinity groups, for the return of Breaking Bread Together, a cultural food tasting event. The Future Leaders of Yale, Office of Diversity and Inclusion and Belonging at Yale invite you to the Belonging at Yale Series. This three-event series will focus on belonging in a complex workplace. These events will explore what the new term of belonging at an organization means and offer diverse experiences and pathways to show and be authentic in a workspace.

The first part of this series will take place on Friday, October 27th, 2023 from 12:00-1:00PM around the topic of “Belonging: Do we need a deeper exploration?”
