Join the Peabody, the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), and the New Haven Museum for the 27th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Legacy of Social and Environment Justice—two days of free, hybrid events made possible through the generous support of our Presenting Corporate Sponsor Citizens™.
Our celebration will be held in-person for the first time since 2020. Space is limited at both venues, so advanced registration is strongly recommended.

On Sunday, January 15, the New Haven Museum and the Peabody are teaming up for an afternoon of inspiring family programs celebrating Dr. King’s life and legacy, including live storytelling, an interactive dance and drum performance, and kid-friendly activities throughout the museum.
The MLK Poetry Slam is back on Monday, January 16. Influential poet-performers Croilot and Ngoma will emcee an electrifying spoken word experience in one of the largest auditoriums on Yale’s campus. A high-energy group performance and curated open mic will be followed by a slate of renowned slam poets.
