Please join us on Monday, March 7th, at 4pm to discuss the arts as both a form of resistance and unity in carceral settings, through an ArtLinks event hosted by the Justice Arts Coalition (JAC). ArtLinks invites participants to view, discuss, and respond to artwork created by incarcerated artists who are a part of the JAC network. Participants will be encouraged to support featured artists through hand-written letters of reflection and feedback that will be mailed to the artists.
Justice Arts Coalition (JAC) unites teaching artists, arts advocates, artists who are or have been incarcerated and their allies, harnessing the transformative power of the arts to reimagine justice. Through the sharing of resources, stories, and learning opportunities, JAC is building a nationwide collective of people who are committed to increasing opportunities for creative expression in carceral settings, amplifying the voices of those most impacted by mass incarceration, and shaping public dialogue around the intersection of the arts and justice.
