As part of Black History Month and ongoing Yale School of Nursing (YSN) centennial celebrations, the YSN Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (ODEIB) invites you to the next lecture in the Better Health for All speaker series: “The Political Determinants of Health” presentation by author Daniel E. Dawes on February 8. Join us for a discussion and book signing at 3 pm in YSN Room 11701 and then for a reception in the first-floor Hub space at 5 pm. The first 50 registered in-person attendees will receive a free copy Dawes’ book. This event will also be offered virtually.

Join the Asian Network at Yale (ANY) for a conversation about career and service with Weili Cheng ’77, Executive Director of the Yale Alumni Association. Weili Cheng is former chief counsel for The Ritz-Carlon Hotel Company and Marriott International, and also served in the Department of Justice. She is the youngest and first alumna of Yale College to serve as chair of the alumni board. Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees. This event will take person at Evans Hall, 165 Whitney Ave, Room 2410 and via Zoom.

Reading and Q&A with Carina del Valle Schorske, a National Magazine Award winner who has written about post-pandemic dance floors, leaving therapy, and Bad Bunny for the New York Times Magazine. Her forthcoming book, The Other Island, is an exploration of empire, migration, and the transmission of culture in Puerto Rico.
