Event description:

Please join us at the Omni Hotel New Haven for the 14th annual Yale SOM Education Leadership Conference! Our theme this year is Building Community Centered Systems. At ELC 2020, we will take a holistic approach to explore the ways education systems can establish conditions for children, families, educators, and communities to thrive.
Education has long been championed as the difference maker - the experience that allows individuals to overcome barriers to social and economic success. Yet the challenges that students and communities face are more complex than what is addressed in the classroom alone. This year’s conference will examine the systemic conditions necessary to put communities at the center when shaping priorities, partnerships, and policies that ultimately accelerate progress.
ELC2020’S keynote speaker will be Anne Williams-Isom, Chief Executive Officer, Harlem Children’s Zone. HCZ® has achieved unprecedented success, helping thousands of children and families and disrupting the the cycle of generational poverty in Central Harlem through our innovative and effective programs.
