Cafe IT: Giving and Receiving Feedback

Please join Ted Hanss, Assoc. CIO, Medicine & Health Divisions here at Yale and Erika Fleck, Director of Education and Information Technology at the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, Washington State University who will lead us in a discussion and training on best practices for giving and receiving feedback.

Developers Lunch-and-Learn: Accessibility

The topic for this session is Accessibility Design, Annotation, and Tools. Accessibility should be considered early in a project during the design phase. Learn about the concept ‘Shift Left’ and how to incorporate accessibility checks into your designs. Topics covered include accessible color choices, keyboard, and user interaction annotation, and an introduction to the wide variety of evaluation tools available.

VIRTUAL: Beyond the Ballot: Local Matters

Join us for the second event in our “Beyond the Ballot” intercultural civic engagement series, co-hosted and co-sponsored by the Afro-American Cultural Center, Asian American Cultural Center, La Casa Cultural, Native American Cultural Center, and the Community Initiative. This Thursday’s event will highlight the importance of local politics, voter registration and civic engagement with a panel discussion followed by a live Q&A. While this election day has important national implications, we must also recognize and understand the impact local officials have on our daily lives.

Save the date for Jackson’s Virtual Fall Visit Day. Prospective graduate students are invited to join us online to learn more about Jackson’s MA and MAS programs in Global Affairs, view a class, and chat with current Jackson students and faculty members.
The day includes a live Zoom welcome with admissions staff, a virtual campus tour, a live virtual chat with students, and the opportunity to view a Global Affairs class.

Queer Crafternoon: Halloween Edition

Queer Crafternoons are THE Office of LGBTQ’s Resources space to relax, hang out, and do whatever makes you feel crafty in a socially distanced setting! Join us for the relaunch of this beloved Office staple as we count down the days to everyone’s favorite spooky holiday. Bring a project you’re working on or learn how to make DIY Halloween decorations for your dorm/apartment! We will be screening Hocus Pocus as folks chill, mingle, and most of all—craft!
