Knitting together local, national, and international communities of dance, Transpositions: Dance Poems for an Online World explores the continuous and interrupted transmission of embodied dance practices in digital life. Edited by by Kyla Arsadjaja MFA ‘20, the concept and direction of this episode is by Elm City Dance Collective.

Join us for a discussion with Diego Tituaña, Kichwa Otavalo, a diplomat in the Ecuadorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and 2019 World Fellow. Diego will discuss the current issues, and topics their community faces today. As well as highlight the many ways their community expresses their identities through various mediums in an ever changing world. This event is also a part of the course “Indigenous Cultures in a Global Context,” being offered spring 2021.

The Women in Science at Yale (WISAY) and the Women in Science at the Nencki Institute (WISaN) in Poland have joined together to host a virtual discussion about strategies to counteract bias faced by women in STEM, and their lack of representation in the upper echelons of the academic system. For the event, we’ve invited Prof. Eileen Pollack to lead the discussion. She is one of the first two women to earn a Bachelors of Science from the Physics Department at Yale, and the author of the book “The Only Woman in the Room: Why Science Is Still a Boys’ Club”.
